A transition year student has capitalised on school closures and the lockdown to introduce a new food company , Fastnet Foods.
Tim O`Driscoll has launched his baking mix business in Skibbereen, a cost effective , easy and fun way to bake homemade recipes.
The concept grew from a school home economics project where the young entrepreneur saw the cost and potential waste when buying ingredients for baking recipes.
After launching Fastnet Foods , he sold 1,000 mixes in the first 10 days through a network of SuperValu stores in West Cork
Tim O`Driscoll says it has been a busy time for the food startup and it’s ready now to scale to meet the national market.
It is not his first venture as he established an ice-cream business as a 10 year old and operated in West Cork food markets and at sporting events.
